About Us
My name is Christine Davis and I am the very proud owner and creater of Rachel Rene Bath & Body.
In December of 2005 I made homemade hot chocolate mixes for family and friends for the holidays. If you've ever done this, you know that you end up with a huge box of powdered milk left over. In an effort to use it rather than toss it in the trash I had the novel idea of using it in my daughters tub water. Rachel (my daughter) had suffered with eczema since the age of 18 months. Nothing seemed to help and I'd been told that because she also had allergies and asthma that the eczema would probably never go away. So I thought a milk bath would help relieve some of the itching. I didn't have any remedy books on hand so I searched the internet for a milk bath recipe and a whole new world was opened to me. I'd learned so many benefits of using handmade products especially on eczema that I ordered books and was working on recipes within a week and made my first batch of soap from scratch within 3 weeks.
In the fall of 2006, I began selling my new creations of Soaps, Whipped Shea Body Butters, Hand Butters, Lotion Bars and other delightful treats under the name Country Fresh Scents. I did as many craft shows and markets as I could and quickly learned that I loved what I did and it had a purpose for me!
In January of 2008 I decided to change my business name to Rachel Rene Bath & Body because whenever anyone asked me why I began making soaps, I would tell them the story of the Rachel's milk bath. It was around the 300th telling of the story that I realized my business should be named after my daughter because without her, I never would have started it.
I make everything in my line from quality ingredients and in small batches to control the quality and integrity of each of my products. Every single item was formulated and designed by me and I stand behind each and every one of them 150%. My promise to you is to always offer amazing products that are fresh and affordable.
